Well it has been a while since I have updated...thanks to Abby for reminding me. This past weekend we had lots of family and friends in town for Sophia's baptism. Not only did Sophie get baptised but Essy my uncle Tim's baby, joined in. What a special day it was for all who were involved. My sister, Abby and my best friend from high school Laura, were the godmothers. Deanna my best friend from grad school also made the long journey to celebrate this special occasion with us. After the ceremony I had 19 people over to our house!!! This is the first time that I have had this many visitors, and what a great time. Laura, Deanna, Abby and myself spent the morning getting everything ready. We even prepared chutney. Let me guess you are asking yourself what chutney is, well it is a mix between a relish and salsa. Our chutney was a peach and ginger chutney. We also had sandwiches, fruit, pasta salad, and a great cake. In fact I had so much cake left over I brought some to school for the other teachers to enjoy. Friends and family all left on Monday morning...it was a sad day at the hoeme household. Gus, Sophia, and mom stood at the window with tears in our eyes waving goodbye. I will hold these cherish memories close to my heart forever. Thanks to all that helped make our weekend special.
Today we got up to a sick little girl. Sophia is coughing and has a rash all over her body. Joshua made his first trip to the pediatrician. Sure enough Sophie has and ear infection. So we got some antibiotics and will see how she feels in a couple of days. Other than that I did get a new camera as an early birthday present, so later on tonight I will have to upload some pictures for you to enjoy. Hopefully having it in hand will help me to be better about posting and keeping you all up-to-date with the happenings of the hoeme household.
Time to catch up
